Amazon popularized the practice by creating an affiliate marketing program where websites and bloggers put links to the Amazon page for a product being reviewed or discussed in order to receive advertising fees when a purchase is made. In this sense, affiliate marketing is essentially a pay for performance marketing program where the act of selling a consumer on a product is outsourced across a potentially vast network.

To talk about best affiliate programs my friend, I just started an Instagram page and testing the waters to see how effective it is long term. When you decide to promote, or point traffic to, eBay.com, you’ll use an affiliate link. An affiliate link includes a unique ID given to you by the merchant – at EPN, we call this a Campaign ID. Then, when someone clicks on your affiliate link, the affiliate ID gets stored on that person’s browser within a text file known as a cookie. Let’s say you have a promotions page where you’re promoting a product via affiliate links. If you currently get 5,000 visits/month at a 2% conversion rate, you have 100 referrals. To get to 200 referrals, you can either focus on getting 5,000 more visitors, or simply increasing the conversion rate to 4%. Which sounds easier? Instead of spending months building domain authority with blogging and guest posts to get more organic traffic, you just have to increase the conversion rate by 2%. This can include landing page optimization, testing your calls-to-action, and having a conversion rate optimization strategy in place. By testing and optimizing your site, you’ll get far better results with much less effort. 
2) Customer Acquisition Cost – What are you currently spending to acquire new customers? Whatever that amount is, assuming you're profitable, you could technically offer up to that amount to your affiliates for generating new customers. If you can safely spend 10% to acquire new customers through your ad channels, you could afford to offer that rate to your affiliates. (But it doesn't mean you have to. It might just mean you need to optimize your ad spend because you're leaving money on the table.)

Affiliate marketing by definition is a performance based business in which revenue is generated by independent marketers called affiliates who earn a fixed commission paid only when sales are made, leads are confirmed, or any qualified action takes place. 4) Promotions & Discounts – Don't forget to consider your current and future promotions into your equation when determining your affiliate commission rate. Otherwise you'll quickly discount and commission yourself out of business. Do you offer first time customers 10% off their first purchase for signing up to your newsletter? Do you run weekly buy one get one deals? Do you often have flash sales? Think about your history of promotions and also what you'd like to do in the future so that you can afford to offer an affiliate commission on sale items or in conjunction with your other promotions.
In addition, if you choose to display prices for any Product on your Site in any “comparison” format (including through the use of any price-comparison tool or engine) together with prices for the same or similar products offered through any web site or other means other than an Amazon Site, you must display both the lowest “new” price and, if we provide it to you, the lowest “used” price at which the Product is available on the Amazon Site.
